National
Youth Leadership Training
What is
NYLT?
National Youth Leadership Training is the
pinnacle of Boy Scout training for youth. Every Troop deserves a Senior Patrol
Leader that is trained and prepared for the responsibility he faces. NYLT
offers training in advanced scout skills and teaches the eleven points of
Leadership. As an outdoor course, it emphasizes the practical challenges of
leadership using the patrol method, while providing enjoyable activities to
practice with. This course is supervised by adults and taught by trained boys;
it emphasizes the methods of the boy-led troop. Successful graduates gain self
confidence and learn how to "get things done while having fun!"

OA Members: National Leadership Seminar
Order of the Arrow conducts the National
Leadership Seminar several times a year. The regional NLS courses are
held in the spring, and are a weekend conference on the skills and attributes of leadership. It is intended primarily to enhance the leadership skills of the Order of the
Arrow's key youth and adult members as they seek to improve their services to the Boy Scouts of America and the greater community. The weekend format is designed to complement the longer, more detailed Wood Badge and Junior Leadership Training Programs. Ni-Sanak-Tani
Lodge #381 takes a contingent of area youth and adults on a regular basis.
Check with your OA Troop Rep, or the Lodge's
calendar, for the next opportunity. |
